It's been over a year...

I can't believe it. It has been over a year since I have blogged. How did that even happen? Wow. I have been so busy with three young kids. My baby will be 10 months old tomorrow. My oldest kid is 5 and my middle kid is 3. I'm also homeschooling this year. So between the high energy and high needs of my three young kids, homeschooling, breastfeeding the youngest... I haven't even thought to blog. I need exercise so badly. I know I do. I'm so stressed out with kids and am exhausted. I know that exercise is exactly what I need to take my stress away and give me more energy. The problem is finding that time. After I had my last baby I was able to lose a lot of weight by doing Jillian Michael's Body Revolution. Well just in the past week my baby has started actually sleeping longer at night. He used to not sleep at all if I'm not laying down with him nursing. We cosleep (bed share, specifically), just like I did with the other kids. Usually I could nurse him to sle...

Yes! Working out during pregnancy!

I'm so excited to say that I have been successful at working out during pregnancy (even if I've been failing at blogging about it)! This is exciting news yall. I feel so much better now that I have exercise back in my life! I cannot tell yall enough how great it has been to start exercising again. I feel so much less stressed, so much more energetic, and just all around healthier. I love having my BodyMediaFit! Using my BodyMedia Fit during pregnancy really shows me how much I'm moving and how much I'm consuming and I find that I need to be careful that I eat MORE now that I'm pregnant and that I am not too much in a calorie deficit. Before I was using my BodyMedia to LOSE weight. Now I am using it to make sure I'm moving and exercising, but that I'm also giving my body adequate nutrition and not restricting my intake. I love it guys. LOVE it! Please comment on this post if you have successfully exercised during your pregnancy. How much did you end up gainin...

Why I've Been MIA

Image
Well guys, I've fallen off the diet and exercise bandwagon. I feel pretty bad about it. But here's what happened. Yes. I am pregnant. It was a little (okay a lot) unexpected. As soon as I found out, I got scared to exercise. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, and although I've had two healthy babies since then, I still get nervous. I know that working out shouldn't have any effect on a miscarriage. I know that working out during pregnancy is good and healthy. I know that if I keep up with my exercise now, it will keep my weight in check and make the weight easier to lose later on. I know all of this. But I still haven't worked out in two months. Eek. Did I just admit that? Yes. Yes I did. It's the truth. Excuses. That's all I got. Fear. I am now 12 weeks and have seen the baby on the ultrasound twice and I hear it's heartbeat on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure my chance of miscarriage is very slim now, but I do know things can happen at any ...

TurboFire Week 1 Review

I finished the first week of TurboFire! Yay! It was amazing! I lost three pounds, which is amazing for me. All of the workouts I did were very intense but I never felt like stopping. I basically smiled the entire workout every day. Chalene makes working out so much fun. I was very concerned about not being able to keep up but that was not an issue at all. I could keep up the whole time without feeling worn out. I was also worried about the choreography. I don't consider myself very coordinated and I'm not good at learning routines or dances. But I have caught on so quickly! Chalene starts with one move and then adds one move on to that. Then you do that a few times then she will add on another move, and so on. It is brilliant, and makes routines so easy to learn! Three pounds! Wow! I weighed in Monday at 154! That is one pound lower than I was when I met my husband. I have said before that 155 was my first official goal. And I'm there! I can only imagine where the next 3 mo...

My 100th post! And TURBOFIRE Day 1!

Wow! Today marks my 100th post! Pretty awesome! You know what's even more awesome? Today I did my official weigh in for the start of TurboFire and I weighed in at 157. Wow! I'm super excited about this. When I met my husband, as I said before, I was 155, and I felt pretty good about myself then. My body is different now than it was then, though. Having two kids will do that to you. Plus gaining all that weight and coming back down to a healthier weight makes my body look different than it did before too. That is okay with me though. I just want to be healthy. I don't need my body to look any certain way really. I am doing the 5 day Inferno schedule for TurboFire for my first week. So today was Fire 55 and Stretch 10. I was so impressed with Fire 55! Wow! The music was so bumpin and the moves were so fun. It hardly felt like working out at all! Although, my sweat and calorie burn would say otherwise! I was pouring sweat and burned 493 calories during Fire 55! Wow! I love tha...

The Best Cheap Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

I ordered a new arm strap thing for my phone for when I'm running. It's pink. It's cute. I love it! I'm getting so pumped up to run this 5k in May. I really wanted to get some good accessories that will make it an even more enjoyable experience. We already have one armband, but we needed another since my husband and I obviously can't both wear it at the same time.  I got it on eBay for like $3.50 with free shipping. So if you are looking for a cool armband for your phone, LOOK ON EBAY!!! We also only have one good pair of headphones. I hate earbuds. Hate them. My husband has this really awesome pair of headphones but, again, we can't both wear them at the same time. And it's really yucky to try to use them after he has worn them on a run. #GROSS We needed another pair! But I really hate the wires on my husband's pair. They are annoying and get in the way. I wanted a pair of wireless headphones. I started looking but wow were they expensive. Then I came a...

TurboFire Challenge!

Image
I think this will be my last week on Body Revolution, Round 2! I know it's only week 11. I saw on Facebook that TurboFire will be doing a Smokin' Hot In 90 Days Challenge and I really want to join this! EVERYONE gets a free TurboFire water bottle just for entering. You have to submit your days 1, 30, 60, and 90 pictures in order to receive the water bottle. Then I don't know how they will determine a winner from the challenge or what the criteria is for winning but the winner gets I think $200 worth of workout apparel. It sounds like fun to me since I was planning on starting TurboFire in 2 weeks anyway. I really feel like this challenge will motivate me and keep me on track! The challenge starts now but we have until Tuesday to submit our day 1 photo and actually begin. So I will finish out week 11 of Body Revolution and start TurboFire on Monday. I was thinking about still doing some of the strength day workouts but I really don't know if I will have time. You know ...
